I kinda-sorta asked this question here back in 2012 APR.[1] Two recommendations stood out: * Lightworks (http://www.lwks.com/) * VideoLAN Movie Creator (http://www.videolan.org/vlmc/) Both are free, which is why they stood out. VLMC I never could get to compile on the older release of Debian I'm running at home, and I didn't care enough to do anything about it. A more fast-moving distro (like Ubuntu) would prolly have a better chance. Lightworks had some other problem on my XP system (I don't recall the details), but it was still marked as "Beta" at the time, and I didn't try very hard. -- Ben [1] http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg112539.html
