I ordered a new (outlet actually ) dell server- its an r710
8x 600gb sas
48 gigs of ram
I want a raid 10 using 6 drives with 2 hot spares, this will host a 2012
server and 3 guest,
File Server
Citrix Server
SQL Server / accounting app
They are asking if I want to keep the integrated card (PERC H700 Integrated
RAID Controller 512MB Cache) or upgrade to;
B) PERC6E SAS RAID Controller 2x4 Connectors, External, PCIe512MB Cache,
Customer Install [$849.99]
C) Dell PERC H800 External RAID Controller Card [$809.99
Any thoughts / suggestions /recommendations?
