I'm currently doing a bit of research for an article I am writing and wondering whether anyone on-list might be able to chime in with some opinions or soundbites.
The subject I am addressing is this:- *Where do you think VDI will be in five years' time?* Looking for strategic opinions around whether you think VDI (as in primarily Windows-based virtual desktops) will be here for a long time, whether it will be a stepping-stone to a different form factor or way of working (please elaborate if this is your opinion!), whether Windows VDI is just used for legacy or middleware apps, any of your thoughts around the subject really. I'd also be interested in whether you deploy VDI yourselves (or are considering it) and whether you view it as a viable long-term platform investment. Not looking for anything particularly long or detailed, just trying to canvas some of the opinions out there.
