I'm currently testing out Crash Plan Pro (CPP) but it has a few limitations and I'm not sure it's going to cut it. Data is stored on a Drobo 5N NAS, which has an app for CPP but it's pretty limited, and not fully supported at this point so I don't consider it an option. What we need: Online backup, prefer to have an initial seeding option. CPP has this available, but only with their Home and Enterprise services, not with Pro. Doesn't make sense to me why they'd limit this... Not asking to debate this, just sayin. Local backup of mapped drives, and/or network shares. Not supported by CPP, it is doable, just not supported by the vendor. Prefer to have fully supported method in case of any problems. Other features I'm hoping for: Version control Continuous backup Run as a service. Scheduling would be great, but if it runs a continuous backup that will suffice. Bandwidth throttling would be a plus Client OS is currently XP SP3, but early next year we'll be moving them to 7 or Win 8. Tia, Neil ________________________________ No virus found in this message.
