So… playing around HyperV Replica (2012 R2). And oh my, I’m in love.

Currently throttling over a VPN/WAN throttled to about ¼ of our pipe. It
works great. Did the obviously things like move the page file to separate
disk not included in replication, as well as created another non-replicated
disk for scratch items like a large ISO that I’ll need once and never need
again.

But once in a while, when the server is idle, boom, 600MB needs to be
replicated. Looking for some tools that will help pinpoint what this
changes might be. Where is the disk activity, what process is associated it
with it, which might help me to eliminate unnecessary replication traffic.
I’m sure this has come up before – replication of servers is nothing new…
but it’s new to me.

Any leads?

Thanks,
Sam
