If you have a client that thinks that it is connected to a windows domain, but that does not work any more, try this: on the client go to where you would normally go to remove it from the domain, then go one step back. You end up in system properties, on tab computername. It has a button to change the name of the computer. Usually you press this button. Instead click the button above it. This starts a wizard to connect the computer to a network. Use it to connect it to a windows domain. This works even if the computer is already connected to that domain, but somehow that connection doesn't work any more. It restores the connection to a working state. Works great and can save a lot more than just one boot: if you use group policy to deploy software, it also saves uninstall and reinstall of all that software.
