Below my name are the headers from an email to the list. It's all very
interesting, but note the following lines:

Thread-Topic: [NTSysADM] Question on those working with SEIM
Thread-Index: AQHPVQqiXmMi1lMNLEKRfD3qDBILIpsMfHog
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
References: <[email protected]>
<[email protected]>
<[email protected]>
 <[email protected]>
In-Reply-To: <[email protected]>

Many mail clients (AKA MUA or Mail User Agent, vs. MTA, MDA or MX,
Message Transfer Agent , Mail Delivery Agent and Mail Exchanger,
respectively) that understand SMTP headers use the above lines to keep
track of conversations, in particular, the Thread-Index, Message-ID
and In-Reply-To lines. The References lines are more used by NNTP
clients.

I'm not going to do the full search through recent emails to show
where the thread was broken - those who are interested can check for
themselves...

Yes, I'm being somewhat obnoxious. Perhaps a few will learn something
they hadn't stumbled on before....

Kurt
