userPrincipalName is stored in AD as an attribute that is part of the user
class as a systemMayContain item. And therefore on everything derived from the
user class.

It doesn't really affect anything. I was just curious as to where this resides.
I asked our Notes Admin and he doesn't know either. He says that you can add
attributes that show up in the schema and those that don't. He said if the
attribute doesn't' need to be updated, then it doesn't have to be added to the
schema. He showed me examples of both.

It may not be available in the view you are accessing. I am actually working on
a similar project and similar has been done.
Let me know if you are still stuck and I will ask a Domino admin colleague.

Subject: [NTSysADM] OT: LDAP attribute in Domino

Hey guys, working on a project to migrate from Domino to Office 365. As part of
that our Notes guys added an additional attribute in Domino
(userprincipalname). Works great. But when I look in the schema, I don't see it
listed as an attribute. Huh? I can locate an object that has this attribute,
but when I say find in Schema (I use Softerra LDAP Browser) it says it doesn't
exist, which corresponds to what I see in the schema, attribute isn't there. So
........ where exactly does domino store this?

It's not a big deal, just never saw this before.

Thanks,
