We've been using SpamTitan for our spam filtering and I've been pretty happy with it. It's a appliance install where you use your own physical box for it, or run as a VM (how we use it).
http://www.spamtitan.com/ As I recall, it's a fair bit cheaper than the Barracudas, and I like the idea of not being locked into a vendor supplied hardware box.
