I kind of wonder what "additional data" Microsoft was able to capture (if any). While I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but I'm guessing MS could have captured a lot of additional data on lookups that they could possibly leverage later for BING or other services. "we didn't intend to gather this date, but look at these trends we found..."
