Yes I understand and technology especially on the security front is moving
pretty fast.
The NSA 240 can only do 100 Mbps, my internet Rogers fibre is 200 / 200 Mbps.

Whether or not a firewall will last will depend upon two things, primarily:
-- How much your business needs change relative to what you purchase today
-- How much your business risks (and the threat landscape in general) will
change relative to what you purchase today.
That's about it.

And I think the Fortigates are pretty good. The Palo Alto devices have more
flexibility, but it's not free.

In what way did you outgrow your current firewall?

We have outgrown our current firewall SonicWall NSA 240, I have the choice of
going to a large SonicWall and simply copy the configuration over. Or switch to
Fortinet as recommended by my guys that manages our important infrastructure,
with at least 1 day of configuration, however I want something that will last
for some time to come. And BTW I have about 300+ users.

Does anyone have experience good / bad with Fortinet?
