And I thought I remembered finding a KB before-this might have something helpful as O365 is pretty much like SP2013 for these features: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2629108 I remember now that the webclient service was an issue back in XP. -B

Current production portal at corporate is running sharepoint 2010. It's getting upgraded to 2013 but that's not going to happen for another month or so down the road. I have a user who (had) office 2010 on his machine and he used the explorer view quite a bit against the portal for file management. We upgraded him to office 2013. Time passes ..... ( couple of weeks maybe ... ) I get a call - "... my windows explorer view no longer works on the portal.". I wanted to get in the fact that quite a bit of time had passed before I became aware of this - can't really say for sure that the upgrade to o2k13 is what broke the explorer view capability .... The web admin guy at corp who maintains the sharepoint server isn't much help - says it is an integration issue and that his o2k13 (on win 8 client) works just fine. My user is on win7. Corp has a pre-production sharepoint 2013 up and running on the wire. George's laptop (the guy who is 'broken') works fine on the 2013 sharepoint. ( the explorer view thing) {sigh} I know next to nothing about this - didn't even know what George was talking about when he first called. He then showed me on someone else laptop who is still on office 2010. "Ok great - you can hit the webserver (sharepoint) and get an explorer like view. I see. Just not on your machine .... hmmmmm :( " Kinda hoping maybe some of you have seen or something similar or perhaps know what I might look for? Maybe old bits and pieces of office 2010 still kicking around on Georges machine that need to go away? Browser used to hit the portal (Georges machine) is IE10. We had 11 on it and reverted back to 10 - no joy. -=- jd -=-
