What did you use to clone the hdd?

I cloned the hdd and installed it in a quad core i5 pc. It fails to boot and give the error "boot selection failed because required device is inaccessible" 0xc000000e. I obviously want to prevent from reinstalling the OS. Is the problem because I'm going from a dual to a quad core CPU? Does anyone know? Thanks, Jimmy
