In appreciation to everyone for all your help , I'd thought I would share this
to keep someone else from pulling their hair out.
When using the OSX VPN client, event though it connects to the firewall
(tunnel) you will probably not be able to hit anything past the router-
THE FIX
As simple as it may be it took me hours to figure out-
In the network settings on OSX you need to "change the service order" and drag
VPN to to the top of the list so it becomes
VPN
ETHERNET
WIFI
FIREWIRE
instead of
ETHERNET
WIFI
FIREWAIRE
VPN
