I always took ownership of the directory I'm trying to update, first. I also
found it significantly easier to run the command on the server directly rather
than the mapped drive remotely.

After you establish ownership of the directory and subdirectories, it should
work.

Subject: [NTSysADM] iCACLS Question

Trying to run an iCACLS command to add an administrative user to all user
profile folders (so this user can successfully Robocopy all of these folders to
a new server).

The command appears to run against about 260 folders then stops. 'Successfully
processed 260 files'. There are about 3000 user folders so I'm not sure why it
stops short?

The command I'm running is: icacls z:\profiles /grant
mydomain\adminuser(OI)(CI)F /T

I need to add this user to he can run the robocopy successfully, currently I
get a ton of 'access denied' when trying to copy the folders.

Is my command wrong or is there a better way to add this user to everyone's
profile folder?

Thanks all!
