This may be off topic in the Windows NT forum, but I haven't been able to find any solution that works with this Outlook issue, and at this point I'm not sure if this is specific to the hardware, operating system or application. If you could suggest a different IT forum for this post, please let me know.
I can't remember when it started - might be during our upgrade from Outlook 2013 to 2016 on outlook.com - but now, Outlook seems really sluggish and non-responsive while it syncs. There were several articles I came up with they all point to large ost cache sizes > 1GB. I was able to reduce on one test system, compact and even delete and let Outlook recreate the ost from scratch - but still Outlook is very sluggish during sync. Once internally it gets caught up with the sync, it gets spunky again. These are all modern computer systems, Windows 7 - Windows 10. Also tested with all add ons disabled, and AV disabled.
