Works like a champ.  I am not working for that employer anymore, but the
solution worked for many years without a single hiccup.  I was really
skeptical at first, but it's a rock solid solution for things like
licensing dongles.  Maybe not so much for real-time data originating on a
serial interface, but who knows?  Might work great.
