Hi All- I'm trying to understand a bit more about a particular Warning event getting written to the System log on Windows 7 x64 SP1 systems. I continually see warning events with Event 1014, DNS Client Events being logged (sample of a few are below and are not the same on all machines)
Name resolution for the name 167.149.120.74.in-addr.arpa timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded Name resolution for the name www.livechatinc.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Name resolution for the name ads.ehealthcaresolutions.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded I'm trying to understand if these type of events are benign or should be a cause for concern. The end user doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary, performance-wise. One of our developers saw this event logged and it referenced an internal host that runs a web application for a group of employees and now is convinced that it's causing performance issues. Please note, the event was only logged a single time several weeks ago. Before I rush in, I'm just trying to learn more about this particular event and if it should be a cause for concern. My apologies if this should be suited for a different mailing list. ~Dave CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This communication and its attachments may contain non-public, confidential, or legally privileged information including HIPAA-protected PHI.
