It’s a different department that handles desktops here, but we’ve been using HP Connected Backup for a while now. We’ve also evaluated CrashPlan by Code42. I’ve successfully done restores using both and performance seems good with both. To me they seem like a tossup, so if I were making the decision I think I would base it on price.
We have maybe about 5000 desktops being backed up. Of those I think at least 33% are Macs and the rest Windows. As far as I can tell both of these are flexible when it comes to administration. I think CrashPlan requires one local server and Connected Backup doesn’t require any. If I remember correctly, on both solutions the admin can set a default set of data to back up and the user is able to modify it if needed. Those would be things to look into when comparing solutions even if I’m not 100% accurate. *From:* listsad...@lists.myitforum.com [mailto: listsad...@lists.myitforum.com] *On Behalf Of *Kish N Kepi *Sent:* Monday, December 5, 2016 8:15 AM *To:* ntsysadm@lists.myitforum.com *Subject:* [NTSysADM] Cloud Backup Service Anyone using a cloud backup service for enduser’s laptops, that can be recommended? In truth, I don’t really know the right features to be looking for, so any information you pass on would be appreciate. KnK
