It’s been several years, but whenever we run into this we start to investigate
device firmware and driver updates, which often can correct the problem. Just
do them one at a time, usually starting with the NIC driver, then bios, then
chipset, and anything else you may find that could be related. Check out your
bios options for power management settings as well, sometimes that has an
impact.

Subject: [NTSysADM] GPO Startupscript fails if DHCPMediaSense is enabled on
Windows 10

Hi folks,

on a quick computer system with Windows 10 on a SSD installed I saw that our
startup script was failing with event
1129<https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc727335%28v=ws.10%29.aspx>
followed by 1130:
SupportInfo1 0
SupportInfo2 0
ErrorCode 267
ErrorDescription The directory name is invalid.
ScriptType 0

During my investigation I found a Microsoft Support
page<https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/938449/netlogon-event-id-5719-or-group-policy-event-1129-is-logged-when-you-start-a-domain-member>
which also states to set DisableDHCPMediaSense to "1".
That actually works and the startupscript is running again.

Does anyone know if there is a better solution or another way because this is a
problem if it comes to notebooks and mobile devices.

Best wishes
    Markus
