I have a couple of architects that go something similar to what you want I
think.

Large Samsung TV mounted on the wall and connected to cable for the news and
such. The TV's have, I think Samsung calls it, Anycast included with them.
The architects use a Surface Pro 4 and wirelessly send the signals.
Technology is called Miracast. Works pretty well with any laptop or tablet
that has the software installed.

For those that don't, like older Windows 7 devices, I use a product called
ScreenBeam by Actiotec, to achieve the same results. The kit includes a
transmitter for the laptop and receiver for any TV that has a HDMI port.
Makes the kit really portable if the need arises.

Easy to setup and inexpensive to try if you already have a current Windows
10 laptop and current big screen TV.

Subject: [NTSysADM] AV setup question

Hi All,

We have a large break/meeting area, about 25 x 30 feet, in which we are
looking to add TVs or projectors. I have had some quotes from AV companies
and they seem pretty high for what we need: occasional display for internal
presentations, connecting to a standard laptop, connecting to our cable TV
for news, etc as needed.

My company is HVAC/electrical so we have folks here who would handle system
mounting, electrical requirement and such. I was thinking maybe two large
TVs, sound bars, HDMI splitter, attached to some sort of signal receiver.
Laptop would connect via the signal system. This would be far less than a
pro company installing something that would be nice but for us overkill,
since we'd need it maybe once a month.

Thoughts?

Thank you,

Tom
