Make sure you are using regedt32 not regedit and create the value as REG_EXPAND_SZ

Hi all,

On a W2K machine, when I add a new string value in the registry, how can I change the type of the string value from REG_SZ to REG_EXPAND_SZ .

Thanks

Mal

Many moons ago I saw a hack for NT to display the computername and username below the "My Computer" Icon - we have implemented this on all our NT4 boxes.... and now we are starting to move to Win2K - I'm sure I've seen the hack somewhere but can't seem to find it..... can anyone save me a sad lonely night in front of my Laptop searching the web?

TIA
Jack
