Were there any BIO's updates between the one you were running and the one
you upgraded too? You may want to try downgrading to an earlier version to
see if it's more compatible with the SSD drivers. I did this in similar
situation in the past. Seems that you have to run certain combinations of
BIO's and SSD's in order for them to play nice together.

I have a Compaq Prolaint 5500 (NT 4.0 SP6a) w Smart Array 4200 Controller
that Blue Screened after installing the Q299444 Security Roll-up patch.  I
flashed the BIOS (P12 now dated 1/08/2000) and the Controller Bios (now rev
C V4.48) and rebooted and it still BSOD's.  I tried installing the driver
mentioned below (cp001095.exe) and now the system hangs on the OS Loader
screen. 4 dots (....) and that's it.  Any ideas/solutions other than to
start from scratch.  Thanks.

versions prior to 4.24.0.0 of the Compaq Array Controller device driver
(Cpqarray.sys).  The customer could have obtained the driver from any of the
