That
happened to us as well here in Las Vegas (Hi David!). At 92F, we lost a
RAID drive. It got to 92 by the time our pagers went off and we made it to
the office.
I'm in
Las Vegas and our environmental system died. You can imagine how warm it
is inside the server room right now. I know this is noise.
Sorry.
Heat! I am qualified to talk about heat.
For the last two summers the server room where I work has had NO environmental
systems. The server room here has exceeded 80�F most every
afternoon since June and a fair number of the mornings. I keep waiting
for the servers to quit. So far, only a couple of hubs have died.
And my partner has had health problems due to the heat
also.

Yeah, it's a little bit like that. Except for the volcanic
heat. ;o) Both areas are quite beautiful though.

It is a totally awesome place believe me
- nowhere else like it in the world.
Driving along with volcanic smoke coming
out of the sides of the road, incredible waterfalls, hot geysers, warm
water lakes and lagoons, among the best salmon and trout fishing in
the world, a tremendous rift valley, and so it goes on. The volcanic
scenery and activity is unreal - has to be seen tobe believed - the
entire island housing is heated by thermal energy piped from
underground volcanic activity, and it is cold weather there for much
of the year. Oh yes - in the summer it never gets really dark - it was
light outside at 02:00 in the morning, and people were out and
about!
Apologies for going on about Iceland -
well worth a visit!
