Active Directories & Domains - Trusts

I'm trying to setup Trusts between a 2000 Server and our company's NT 4.0
PDC. The 2000 Server is configured as a PDC for our Validation lab. Every
time I try to add the Trust, on either end, I receive a message stating
that the domain can't be contacted. I've installed service pack 2 for 2000
and even tried loading the lmhost file with no luck. Any ideas anyone?
