Instead of rebooting the server.  Check the route table.  If those users are
on another subnet, their route is most likely gone.  So just recreate the
route to their subnet and you will be able to ping their machine and they'll
be able to get their mail.

Hi there,

On our NT4, sp6a, Exch 5.5 sp4, server, at times we get users who can not
access the server and we can not ping them from the server. Most of these
users are in other cites and connect via wan thru our routers. The solution
seems to be rebooting the server and like magic, we can ping them and they
have access to there mail. We have Win95, 2nd edit,Outlook 2000, clients.
The other users in the same office can access, thru same route and have no
problem. The event logs are clear as to locking out a address, or at least I
can't,(or don't knowwhat to look for), see it. TIA
