Jon,
A SAN was a little too rich for our budget, so we went with an EMC NAS solution, Clariion IP 4700 box. It is network attached, via Ethernet, with redundant connections. It is able to be converted to a SAN, fibre attached, if we choose to go that route later. It is capable of storing ~2.7 TB when fully loaded (the current drive size is 73 GB). We have had it running for about a month now and are happy with the performance and ease of setting up volumes/shares. I went to the local EMC office for a 1/2 day hands on seminar, and we pulled drives and network connections while the system was live and saw the failover capabilities.

Subject: XIOtech SANS solution?
Has anyone has any experience with XIOtech?
We're thinking about their Magnitude SAN solution, but I've never heard of them before.
