Once upon a lifetime ago, I was involved in some counter intelligence and security
activities in Europe while working for some government agency or another. We received
a message shortly after Ronald Reagan was elected reminding us that the executive
order against assassinating foreign leaders was just that, an executive order, and
could therefore be suspended at any time it was deemed appropriate.
Withing six months, the PLO chiefs in several cities, including Athens, Paris, and
some others, were assassinate by "someone". Soon thereafter, we stopped hearing of the
PLO blowing up airports, highjacking cruise liners on the high seas, and conducting
any large scale terrorist events.
Coincidence?

I agree. It's time our vaunted various special forces, perhaps in
cooperation with other special forces, start quietly putting down the rabid
dogs without hurting the innocent.

While those who did this (and weren't on the planes) must get what they
deserve, does flattening a whole town or village to get just one of them
make the US any better than them?

Those that advocate waiting for a full and complete accounting to determine
blame are WRONG. We should retaliate NOW against ANY terrorist group that
have EVER in the past taken ANY type of action against the US. 50,000
people deserve RETRIBUTION and those of us still here DEMAND a strong
deterrent for the future.

Both World Trade Center buildings have fallen. There is only rubble where
these historic structures stood.

Could you confirm either more or less whether the structures are basically
now grade level?

Probably the most tragic for the US since the assassination of JFK
