Along the lines of "he doesn't get it - he never has and he never will . .

I heard Dick Gephardt say in an interview this morning that "we need to look
at a compromise between security and freedom".  This is one of the same
characters who is frequently telling us how the Constitution is a "living
document", i.e. subject to his modernization and interpretation.  He's not
alone in this regard - plenty of fools on both sides of the aisle think the
same way.

Benjamin Franklin said at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War, "those who
are willing to sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither".

'nuff said.
