We have a HP NetServer LX Pro (4 Pentium 200 MHz processors, 1 GB RAM)
running WinNT 4.0 SP6A w/ the Security Rollup Package. It has almost 600
printers of various shapes and sizes (HP, LexMark, QMS, Xerox, etc.)
installed on the server -- all connected to it via TCP/IP.

Over the past couple of months (prior to applying the SRP package), I have
noticed an increased frequency of BSD's on the server. In all cases, based
on the information in the System log, it crashes with the following STOP
message:

0x0000000a (0xff5defe8, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x80131571)

Unfortunately, we are not able to get a memory dump because it would take a
1 GB pagefile on C$, and the C$ is only 2 GB in size.

After disabling the automatic reboot, I was able to find out that the
referenced driver is none other than "ntoskrnl.exe". Unfortunately, I
didn't have too much success finding anything useful in TechNet using "0xa"
and "ntoskrnl.exe" in the search fields (as suggested in TechNet article
Q130802). We have disabled various 3rd-party services (e.g. McAfee) to no
avail. I'm almost ready to simply reapply SP6A and hope for the best.

If you are thinking there are way too many printers on here, you're probably
right. But, we have an identical "sister" server (same make, model, etc.)
with the same exact printers installed on it, and it hasn't crashed once.
And, the "sister" server handles at least 80% of the print requests. The
one that crashes handles about 20% -- if that.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
