Yes that is correct, poland was taken without provokation.

I would however say that Isolationism solves very little - in order to
properly isolate a country, you have to not care what happens to the rest of
the world, which of course you can't when the entire world goes to war.

While the US may not have made the best decisions with regards to

Isolationism solves nothing.  Eventually, the trouble comes looking
for you.

I'm sure Belgium provoked someone to earn their fate in WW2.   Same
for Poland in both World Wars.
