Subject: IIS 5.0 and ASP pages not displaying

I recently formatted one of our servers and reinstalled Windows 2000,
SP2, and applied the security patch to protect against code red. My
Inetpub directory was on another partition so I just told IIS that the
home folder was there. Since, I have not been able to load ASP pages.
I would get a "HTTP 500 - Internal server error" and that was it. So in
internet explorer I unchecked "Show friendly HTTP Errors" and now I get
this

"Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during
the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more
detail information. Please contact the server administrator for
assistance."

I checked the eventlogs and it says

"The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/Root/it'. The error
was 'The server process could not be started because the configured
identity is incorrect. Check the username and password."

I made sure that Anonymous access was OFF for that web, and I log in,
but I still recieve the same error in the browser and in the Eventlog.

Now just to make absolutly sure it wasn't my code, I made a simple asp
page.. <% Response.Write ("This is ASP")%> That's it. I created a web
for it, and I still the get the same error. I copied it to a different
server and created a web for it on that server, and it works fine.

Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this? I am not able to
find and KB related directly to this.

SPECS:
Windows 2000 Server SP2
Applied security hole to protect from code red
Also has Exchange Server 2000 SP1

Thanks in advance!

Paul
