Not quite sure if I understand the question completely however check to see if you
have "user must
logon to change password" enabled in UM.

Hello all,
I am having a problem where people are being asked to change their
domain password at logon and when they choose yes and enter in the old
password and the new ones the system hangs at that screen. Everything
works fine if I change it on the server and then they login. Nothing else
seems to be affected but this change password screen hanging. I have tried
it from within Windows as well and it hangs there too. It has happened on
NT and 2000 workstations both. I am going to check out the wins server and
what not, but not sure why only this feature would be hanging and no
others.
