Title: IIS 4 performance on Multiprocessor box?

I have an existing intranet web server that I wish to replace for performance reasons.  Context: although there will be background indexing performed on virtual directories in ancillary web sites (multiple sites each bound to specific IP addresses), the primary application will be only one website.

Question: Does IIS4 effectively use a second processor for inet services or would it be a waste of money for the second processor?  Also , has anybody added a second processor AFTER nt4 installation?  I know that the regular HAL will support 1-2 processors (and have installed native on dual processor machines), but don't remember if you can add the second processor on the fly (after OS install), or not??
