Hello,
I'm running the eval version of ISA (that means no patch) and it has been shutting down repeatedly over the past few days, up to three time since 8 o'clock this Monday morning. OS is Win 2K Server with SP2.
From looking at the logs and doing some testing on my own, I think it happens whenever a user terminates his/her VPN connection. If I run ISA without RRA, I have no problem whatshowever. When RRA is running and someone terminates their VPN connection, the Microsoft ISA Server Control Service stops. Attempting to restart it (either manually or automatically) fails because RRA is already running. I've pasted below the two relevant messages I get in my error log. I wasn't succesful in locating helpful information in the KB. Does anyone have a suggestion ?
Log : Application log
Source : Microsoft ISA Server
Content : Microsoft ISA Server Control Service failed to start because the operating system service Routing and Remote Access is already running. To fix this problem use ISA Server setup to reinstall ISA.
Log : Sytem log
Source : Server Control Manager
Content : The Microsoft ISA Server Control service terminated with service-specific error 278540.
