Just to make sure that we are both taLking about the same thing, the mail
product that I am using is that which comes native with Win95 and NT 4.0.
This is strictly a peer-to-peer mail service - not a "mail server
application" in any sense. As I recall, MS made a pre-Exchange mail server
application. Are these tools for this application?

Microsoft has the Post Office Diagnostics Tool (Q125245 for Vs2-3.2 or
Q134753 for V3.5) to check (and fix) MS Mail Databases. I don't remember
where to download the V3.5 utility but I had found it once somewhere at
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/mail.
