Clayton, my thoughts exactly.

While the list does 'drift' at times, benefits can still be seen in the
'drifts'. From the 'drifts' I've been able to laugh. I am about to see many
people I know lose their jobs because my company is laying a ton of people
off right now. I really need to laugh. No to mention anybody who doesn't
snicker and think 'they actually pay me to do this' is more than likely not
enjoying their job. We GenXer's know that work and fun are not mutually
exclusive and besides that growing up is sooooo overrated :] Maturity
necessary, acting old optional.

When the list is 'on' it's been able to help me create a personal
knowledgebase from many of the questions/answers that have been and will
continue to be a great asset to increasing my own knowledge. I've also been
able to test my own skill by figuring out an answer and seeing if it matches
any proposed solutions or suggesting a few answers myself.

And a last note, the people on this list are REAL [just like the song says:]
I, for one, enjoy that. I spend my day dancing around peoples feelings and
telling them what they want to hear and it takes it's toll. I've never been
shy with my comments, and some days it helps to just say 'you know, that's
damn dumb' then I can breathe again and face another day.

Thanks to Stu and everyone on this list. I think the list is great and don't
want to see it change, it's got just the right mix of knowledge AND fun ;]

Best regards,
L.D. Pitney

Wow, did I just read that? I dunno, this list has saved my butt a few
times, and other lists I have been on have these wonderful folks who
condemn you for asking the wrong question, or just blast out a q number
without really helping, acting as if they were some sort of god on high.
If that's useful, have at er..

Looks like those of us who want off the list will have to set up an
auto-delete rule. This list is so full of noise, its not worth it. There
are
much more professional, and useful, lists out there.

Me too. It was advertised as a no noise list. Not so. In just a
couple of
hours, I have over 100 emails. I tried to get off, but the scripts on
the
web page don't allow it.
