You need to start the Exchange install from the exchange cd (on the remote pc) and do a custom install and deselect the server and OWA options and just select the admin/doc stuff. This should take care of it. Oh, I am assuming that you are running this from within the same domain that the exchange server is in. I have never tested this across domains.
