Yea, I
have seen this same thing on a W2K Pro box with the Exchange admin
loaded. I don't know what causes it. Out of 4 times I have set it up on
separate boxes, it has only worked on one.
One
option is to do it backwards. Setup an account in Exchange, then when it asks
who to assign the new mailbox, click on new user and user mangler will pop
up.

The
closest answer I can find is Q193704, which is a different problem, but
similar effect. It's ever helpful suggestion is to create the mailbox
manually, and link it to the new user.

Matt, you have probably already looked at this but you
should have an Option in User Manager for Domains on the User, View,
Policies, EXCHANGE drop down options at the top for Exchange that lets you
control that.
Run User Manager-->Exchange-->Options
Click to "Always create an Exchange mailbox when creating Windows NT
accounts."

I have it working on a Win2kPro client, with no special
configuration needed. The only thing that doesn't work is when I create a
new user in User Manager, it does not launch the Exchange admin program
automatically, which it did on NT4Wks. Oh well, I can live with
that.

Don't forget. On a stock Win2K setup it won't
install. you have to first enable remote registry before it will
even install. I think Win 2K does not default to that, if I recall
correctly. Been there done it.

Yes, go through setup but only install the admin option, then
serivce pack it (yes, the client pc) to the same level as the
server
Assuming of course you're talking XCH 5.5 and an NT / 2000
workstation (doubt you can do it from a 9x box...)
