Thanks for the response Jim. We haven’t implemented the Watchguards yet. This Websense thing is a “gotcha” that I just thought about a few days ago, and need to research. If I understand what you’re saying, I’m not going to be able to use Websense anymore, if I put in Watchguard firewalls? That may end up putting the kibosh on ordering that brand of firewall after all. I don’t think the management is going to want to get rid of Websense.

I’m not sure you could actually integrate the Watchguard into your current Websense plan as it expects to see it as part of a Watchguard Management Server and not separately. Any Watchguard firewalls you plan to implement would need to have their web control managed separately from your Checkpoints. It’s been a *LONG* while since I was a Checkpoint guy, but as a Watchguard guy I can tell you, in this fashion, they aren’t compatible. From: Joe Heaton [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2007 8:30 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: Websense question Dennis, Kind of, but not fully. We currently have Checkpoint firewall, and we have Websense Enterprise, a separate product. Websense, internally, has some type of integration with Checkpoint. I’m not sure how that works, as I was not here when they implemented it. However, there is a list on Websense’s website, of supported firewall devices, and Watchguard is not included. So I’m wondering what I’m going to have to do to make the two products work together. I’m probably going to end up calling Websense, if I can find a good number, and get the information from them, but I was hoping to get some real world info first… From: Dennis Hoefer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2007 8:01 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: Websense question Joe, Watchguard integrates SurfControl (owned by Websense) into some of their products and then call it WebBlocker. We have it licensed but are only using it on a couple of categories and don't pay much attention to it on a daily basis. Not sure if that's what you're asking about but could probably come up with some documentation on it for you if necessary. I do, however, understand that it is the holiday season, and there’s probably just no one around that has the answer for me. We currently use Checkpoint, and the Websense integrates with the firewall, but I can’t find documentation on Websense website about integration with Watchguard. Is integration possible with Watchguard, and if not, then how does Websense work in that instance?
