I hate that too on the new Dell's, BTW. At my last job I had a script that looked for specific "uninstall" registry settings and, if found, would execute them (Yahoo! Chat comes to mind). Not a clean way since it's "after the fact", but proved better than nothing (At the time I had perms to do login scripts but not change GPO's).
