Sounds a lot like DPM 2007. It's a great BU/DR solution that does what you
are talking about, and the price is very reasonable.

Has anyone tried to do this? Not sure if it would work with drive failure,
although you could probably scrape some data. Im looking for an alternative
way to possibly take a handful of servers and put vss onto a remote storage
area. Allowing me not only increased capacity but some redundancy. Obviously
it cant be used for a rebuild, but Im tasked to find an answer. I was toying
with vssadmin and making alternate paths. I also found the ability to mount
