<pet peeve> Seriously consider not putting a direct mailto: link on any public web site. The address will be crawled immediately and put into the spam archives. Google "obfuscate email address" and you will find many alternatives to hide your addresses from the spider crawlers. There are different technologies/methodologies available, some require javascript or other features be enabled on the receiving end.
