Disable "Scan all files" and only scan files that are infectable/executable.
That might help...

Hi,

I just upgraded to 3.0 on my notebook, it seem to use a lot more resouces the
2.7, with 2.7 I hardly notice it at all. 3.0 seems to have a drag on the
system. anyone have such experience. BTW I am also using vista SP1 (RC).

2.7 still catches everything for us, and still does better on the spyware than
most any other product.

Our worst crap we get never gets removed completely by running, Adaware, CA,
Spybot, Counterspy, TrendMicro online, Symantec (Latest version), webroot, and
there is one other tool I cant think of..Reboot and at least 1 or 2 come back..

Run 2.7 of ESET as clean as a baby's butt(Post baby wipe)

My only real complaint with 2.7 is the management and documentation. If they
can make a management tool as intuitive and powerful as Symantec and keep their
speed and ability, they would be the silver bullet for us in the AV/Spyware
space.

Wish I knew, I just have seen and heard of all sorts of things happening.
Naturally, my test lan went smooth, so I don't know what circumstances are.
I really don't know what's improved, so I am not sure the release provides any
benefits to outweigh the cons.

It is rather specific, what triggers those effects that is. My test lan went
smooth. Production bit the dust, sigh...

Really? I've got v3 on my domain controllers and haven't experienced any of
that. Maybe I got lucky. :)
