Thanks for your advice. Then if I go ahead by demoting the old domain controller, switch it off and have only the new domain controller up and running then users should be able to log in as per usual without any issues. The swing migration has migrated across everything including OUs, Machine and User accounts, Group Policies as well as the system login script.
