Might want to look at Funduc Software's Search & Replace I've used the registered version of this years ago to change hundreds of thousands of html files in many thousands subdirectories. It handles multiple strings in each file, previews the results, writes the resulting files to alternate dir etc... I tried the free Excel macro with a couple of simple .XLS sheets and it did what I told it to do, replacing strings like you are asking about changing \\server\drive\dir1\dir2\dir3 to \\server2\driveX\dir1\dir2\dir3 multiple times in a couple of files...
