I'm not using DPM, but my understanding is that it's entirely
Microsoft-centric, which is a good thing if you're a Microsoft shop, obviously
not so good if you do or plan on having other platforms to backup and support.
I'm also pretty sure that it doesn't support dedupe and that support for aux
copying data off to tape isn't as polished as things like Commvault.
Whether those are are issues of course depends on your environment and
requirements.

Subject: Anyone using DPM?

That's Data Protection Manager....

Any experiences are welcome. Do you like it? Hate it? How big is your
deployment? Any field servers involved? How does it compare to Netbackup
and/or CommVault? (those are the other two I'm personally familiar with)

Thanks,

Joe
