Sorry – I’ll clarify.
Server 2008 R2 Cluster New SAN – Disk Resources are online with Cluster – Data has been migrated. (New Disk Resources have different Drive Letters) SQL Server has been updated for creation of new DBs on new SAN (Data & Log file storage) In Cluster Manager, Dependencies have been changed to no longer refer to old SAN Disk Resources If I delete those disk resources (remove from cluster, in addition to moving to Available Storage), SQL Server will fail If I bring those disk resources back (but dependencies are not modified), SQL Server starts and stays running Let me know if there is more information needed. I'm not real clear on what you're doing. New SAN replaces old, but what else? Did the new disk resources come online? Did they have the same drive letters as the ones they replaced? Note, I know that clustering has changed a lot since Server 2003, which is the last OS I've had much cluster experience with. So forgive me if the above makes no sense within the context of 2008R2 clustering. Also, what about the event logs. I would think that SQL would be screaming a lot of information if the service can't start. I removed the disks, and SQL promptly shut down & would not restart. I re-added the disks in Cluster Manager & SQL started with no problem. Thoughts?
