For me, this ended up being an issue on the Mac Lion server. We ended up
having to turn OFF dynamic DNS updates on the server and manually create a
static record in DNS -- since then, it hasn't been deleted.

I am having similar issue sometimes. Dynamic update is enabled on AD
zone and sometimes A record is being removed on server reboot and won't get
back when server comes up. I can only speculate that server unregisters its
A record but wouldn't register it again when it starts up. I put then A
rckord back and its again fine quite some time. Dunno about it.
