Can be other reasons, but it's usually because the user is or was a member of a 
protected AD group.

Ran into an odd one, an easy fix but curious why someone would do this. On the 
security tab of a regular user (no one special) then advanced I have three 
users out of a 8000 where the checkbox for 'Inherit from parent the permission 
entries that apply to child objects.....' is UNchecked. The issue showed up 
when we went to Exch 2007, it causes some OWA issues for them.

These are accounts that are long prior to my time. I am just curious under what 
circumstances someone would want to uncheck that on a user account.
